Golf Tees – Small Helpers with a Big Impact

A golf tee is not a hot beverage but a tool for tee shots. It's a peg made of wood or plastic with a small platform at the top. Before taking a shot, it's inserted into the ground, allowing you to place the ball on top. This elevated position enables a more precise and accurate strike with the golf club. A standard golf tee is 5.4 cm long, while an oversized tee for soft ground measures 10.8 cm.

Whether to use wooden or plastic tees is a matter of perspective. Wooden tees are more environmentally friendly and of higher quality. They often break upon impact, which can be both good and bad. Good because it doesn't affect the shot, bad because each tee can only be used once, which isn't cost-effective or sustainable. Plastic tees, on the other hand, rarely break and are often reusable. However, they can alter shots and potentially damage clubs over time.

Golf Tees for Specific Uses

Hybrid Tees: A blend of wooden and plastic tees. The bottom part (spike) is typically made of wood, while the top part (rest) is made of plastic. This design allows hybrid tees to be easily inserted into the ground and reduces the likelihood of them breaking due to the plastic element. However, shots can still be deflected, similar to pure plastic tees.

Step Tees: With their stepped rest heights, these tees adapt to individual swing habits, enabling consistent tee-offs from the same position. For more experienced players, this results in more consistent and straighter shots.

Brush Tees: The rest of brush tees features a bristle-like surface. This increases the likelihood that only the ball, not the tee, will be hit, resulting in more accurate shots by avoiding trajectory distortion.

Winter Tees: As the name suggests, these are used during winter when the ground is frozen and too hard for regular tees. Winter tees have a particularly broad rest area and are simply placed on the ground.
